KITVERSE

Ibrahim Nehme is a curator and speaker working on new media. He is the creator of “The Outpost” magazine, Radio Mansion and ‘a dance mag’. He is interested in underground culture and the ways it can submerge popular cultural narratives. His magazine “The Outpost” aimed to give an alternative space for Arab youths to express new visions and oppositions. The magazine’s entire archive was digitised recently and published online; the project was supported by AFAC.

In today’s world, which is highly polarised between many extremes, Ibrahim believes that the imagination can be a powerful, unifying space that builds bridges and shifts perspectives. His project is about creating a space for different youth communities to imagine and articulate new ways of being in and responding to the world. It is about creating new narratives and building a force of cultural resistance along the way.

The project takes the form of a game, which allows its players to participate in joyful co-creation and to map out new futures. The production is divided into several phases: game design workshop, fieldwork and community activation, creation of a microsite where the game will be centralised, and the launch campaign, which includes a radio show.
