Time Gâte

Reda Mehenni is a cultural promoter and founder of the EL Moutanakil (itinerant) music platform for the development of Algerian electronic music. He was the coordinator of the Algiers International Comic Festival and manager of music groups.

“Time Gate” is a project to showcase Tuareg music in Djanet, a southern town known for the site of Tassili n’Ajjer (rock paintings). This involves listing and filming a repertoire of Tuareg artists from the region, their musical practices, their instruments and songs, in an archive and memory process, but also to serve as material for Algerian electronic music. The main goal is to enhance the value of this heritage and integrate it into Algerian electronic music and thus create a bridge between these two opposing universes on the time scale to enrich each other.
