Mohsen Bchir is a multidisciplinary environemental artist. He graduated initially as Industrial Biology engineer then pursed a Fine Arts master from Washington State University thanks to the Fulbright scholarship. In 2020, he participated in the TASAWAR 2020 curatorial practice workshops organised by the Goethe Institute of Tunis and is coordinator of the “Electrical Disorder” project with the INTERFERENCE light festival in Tunis.
The village of Nefza does not have access to drinkable water although it is a rainy area. Mohsen’s work will be both scientific and artistic. He will carry out research and make analyses as well as meetings and interviews with the villagers; main stakeholders of the project, but also engineers, government representatives and experts. He wants to create an interactive exhibition with a series of photos in augmented reality, which can be presented in places with scientific as well as artistic vocation, as well as interviews in which the villagers tell stories in a poetic way and a documentary that can be presented in schools. The artist is also thinking of creating an interactive photo-book, with QR codes leading to audio stories.
