656 mètres

Aly Mrabet is a DJ, electronic music producer and multimedia creator. He was recently in artistic residency at L’Art Rue for the development of his project “Electroniq Maqâms” and has two ongoing electronic music production projects.

656 Meters is a sound documentary project that delves into the governorate of Kasserine in Tunisia. In perpetual threat of terrorism, trafficking and precariousness, Kasserine is nevertheless an ancient region with a rich heritage, a former bastion of resistance to colonialism and a high place of the Tunisian revolution.

The interactive project consists of 13 chapters, portraying the past, present and future of the region as well as of its 13 delegations.

By giving the inhabitants a voice to create a collective sound memory, the artist considers different media for the dissemination: an online platform, national and international radio stations; and even a traveling sound caravan.
